Bosch Dishwasher Error Codes
Bosch Dishwasher Error Codes: find your code, try the safe step, and book if it does not clear.
Bosch Dishwasher Error Codes explained in plain words: what the display says, the safe thing to try first, and when to book a technician.
These six codes have their own self-help pages or articles on Bosch’s US site. Bosch’s list covers many more codes, but its overview page gives no meanings, so we left them out.
Codes vary by model: check your manual or the model label.
Before you try anything: switch the appliance off and unplug it, or turn off its breaker, before you touch a hose, filter or panel. Do not open the control board or electronics, and never bypass a safety switch, lock or thermostat to get past a code.
Bosch Dishwasher Error Codes: what each one means
E15
- What the manufacturer says: The safety switch has detected water in the base of the dishwasher, and the leakage protection has activated.
- One safe thing to try: Stop the water flowing into the dishwasher, as Bosch says.
- Book a technician when: straight away. Bosch says to contact Bosch Customer Support at 1-800-944-2904 after shutting off the water.
E16
- What the manufacturer says: An issue with water flowing into the dishwasher or the filling system.
- One safe thing to try: Check the inlet hose is not kinked or damaged.
- Book a technician when: the hose is fine and the code remains.
E17
- What the manufacturer says: An issue with water flowing into the dishwasher or the filling system. Bosch gives the same advice as for E16.
- One safe thing to try: Check the inlet hose is not kinked or damaged.
- Book a technician when: the hose is fine and the code remains.
E22
- What the manufacturer says: The dishwasher filter is blocked.
- One safe thing to try: Take out the filter at the bottom, rinse it under running water, scrub with mild soap and a soft brush, and put it back.
- Book a technician when: the code returns after a clean filter.
E24
- What the manufacturer says: The dishwasher is not draining properly because of a blocked drain filter. Bosch lists a blocked hose or a dirty filter as causes.
- One safe thing to try: Check the hose is not kinked, the siphon connection is sealed and the pump cover under the filter is not loose. If the drain connects to a garbage disposal, check the disposal’s drain plug was removed.
- Book a technician when: these checks do not clear it. Bosch says to call customer service.
E25
- What the manufacturer says: The drain pump is blocked, or the drain pump cover is loose or missing.
- One safe thing to try: Take the filter out and check the pump cover under it is secure. Bosch shows how to clear debris, which can be sharp, so use caution and gloves.
- Book a technician when: the code remains after a clean pump area and a secure cover.
